Yet another in a series of early morning starts for everyone’s favorite hooped heroes. Celtic face off against Aberdeen this Saturday in an attempt to further close the gap against the league leaders. Celtic played mid-week and defeated an injury riddled Hearts team 2-0. Aberdeen, who currently reside in 6th place drew 2-2 with Hibernian after being up 2-0 at halftime.
This game has some very interesting facets, such as Celtic most likely starting two teen-aged central defenders (Rogne and Thompson), a 21 year old right back (Caddis) and our new loaner left back, Edson Braafheid. Also Celtic will be contending with the usual injuries and injury candidates. Aberdeen (or to be exact, Mark McGhee) have their own set of controversies as the very unbiased Scottish press has put forth the idea that FORMER CELTIC STRIKER Mark McGhee [(c) - Daily Record] would field an understrength team as they focus on their cup replay, possibly resting up to 5 starters when Celtic goes to Pittodrie.
Of course, plan for the weather as cold, cold, cold is predicted. I hope to see everyone there for a good turnout on Saturday as Celtic hopes to close the gap between good and evil, right and so very, very wrong.
