If you have not already heard, Tony Mowbray will not be at this match as he has been relieved of his duties as manager of Celtic. With that, the change of the end of the season comes on the heels of a 4-0 drubbing away to St. Mirren on Wednesday.
It has not been announced at this time who will be managing Celtic for the remainder of the year. Paddy Power has McStay and Lennon as the leaders finishing this year and staying for next. If gambling were legal, of course.
So. . . no new injuries to report at this time, no reports of the injured being healed.
Much seems the same and everything is different. The league is lost but the huns crashed out of the cup yesterday so whomever is in charge will have that to strive for.
Guys and gals, it has been a bad, bad season for all involved. But now is the time to support the Bhoys against all comers and make the best of it for the time we have left!
Another announcement will be coming tomorrow.
Hope to see everyone there on Saturday.
A reasonable start time? No! Can’t be!
But it is. Plus the weather is supposed to be nice!
OK, so with that established, Celtic come back home for the first time in a month for a league match against St. Johnstone. Not a lot of injury information out yet, but I would figure the same long-term injured are going to remain so. That would include Shaun Maloney, Niall McGinn, Paddy McCourt, Jos Hooiveld and Glenn Loovens. Scott Brown remains suspended for another two matches.
So after last week’s Robbie Keane-o-thon the Bhoys will be hoping to pick up all three points this Saturday.
Hope to see you all there!
Sorry for the succinct post - finals forthcoming for your humble narrator.
Celtic continue their quest in the Scottish Cup facing Kilmarnock away tomorrow at the very, very early hour of 7:15. Celtic will welcome back (?) Scott Brown from league suspension, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Jos Hooiveld and Glenn Loovens all from injury while Craig Bryson hopes to return for Killie.
Celtic fared poorly the last time they faced Kilmarnock away in February as they lost to them for the first time in 9 years.
Let’s have a good turn out to support the folks that allow us to come together so early in the morning!
Celtic face off against a former player and current manager of Falkirk, Steven Pressley this Sunday at quarter past 8.
Celtic are coming in to the match with a variety of injuries and suspensions, including Shaun Maloney, Diomansy Kamara (injured in international duty), Jos Hooiveld, Thomas Rogne, Scott Brown (suspended and red card not overturned) and Glenn Loovens.
A request was put in to have the pitch inspected at Falkirk to make sure the Scottish Under-21 match did not cause any undue destruction. Scotland, however, has been suffering from the same thing Columbus has - a complete and utter lack of sunlight. This obviously makes growing grass and plants problematic.
Even though to this point this season has not turned out the way we’ve hoped, let’s turn out and support the Bhoys this Sunday!
