vs Rangers. Sunday, 28 February 7:30 A.M.

Celtic have their second to last meeting of the year with Rangers at Ibrox this Sunday at 7:30 A.M. Celtic come in to the match in second place 7 points behind Rangers with 51 points from 26 matches while Rangers have 58 points from 25 matches.

Coming in to the match, Celtic are finalizing health checks on Edson Braafheid, Glenn Loovens and Robbie Keane. Jos Hooiveld and Shaun Maloney still appear to be out of the match. Rangers find themselves waiting on Allan McGregor after his ‘assault’ this past Saturday. For more info on a hun getting caught in a lie, please visit Auntie Beeb at:

No denying that while there is a bit of season left, time and points are of the essence. The opportunity to shrink their lead to 4 points and set the theme for the remainder of the season lies in wait this Sunday.

Fado will be opening their doors between 7 and 7:15 so come early and get your seats. The weather sits on the border of dodgy so please everyone take care and be in one piece for Sunday!

vs. Aberdeen. Saturday, 13 February. 7:30 A.M.

Yet another in a series of early morning starts for everyone’s favorite hooped heroes. Celtic face off against Aberdeen this Saturday in an attempt to further close the gap against the league leaders. Celtic played mid-week and defeated an injury riddled Hearts team 2-0. Aberdeen, who currently reside in 6th place drew 2-2 with Hibernian after being up 2-0 at halftime.

This game has some very interesting facets, such as Celtic most likely starting two teen-aged central defenders (Rogne and Thompson), a 21 year old right back (Caddis) and our new loaner left back, Edson Braafheid. Also Celtic will be contending with the usual injuries and injury candidates. Aberdeen (or to be exact, Mark McGhee) have their own set of controversies as the very unbiased Scottish press has put forth the idea that FORMER CELTIC STRIKER Mark McGhee [(c) - Daily Record] would field an understrength team as they focus on their cup replay, possibly resting up to 5 starters when Celtic goes to Pittodrie.

Of course, plan for the weather as cold, cold, cold is predicted. I hope to see everyone there for a good turnout on Saturday as Celtic hopes to close the gap between good and evil, right and so very, very wrong.

vs. Hearts. Wednesday, 10 February 2:45 P.M.

Continuing the procession of a match every three or so days Celtic go home for the first time since the Robbie Keane signing to play Hearts.

In last Sunday’s very early morning cup match, Celtic came out 4-2 winners over Dunfirmline. Goals from players who were not with the team in December were the order of the day as Rasmussen (2), Kamara and Keane all scored goals against the Pars.

Now a return to league play has second place Celtic playing 6th place Hearts. Hearts will apparently be without Jose Goncalves who is being benched by Jim Jeffries for not signing a contract. Celtic are watching Glenn Loovens (concussion symptoms), Shaun Maloney (Gerry’s dislike), Andreas Hinkel (ankle), and Jos Hooiveld (hamstring). The Pars match saw the return of new captain Scott Brown to the lineup and from the injury list.

In the last 6 league matches Celtic have won 4 and lost two while Hearts have won 1, tied 1 and lost 4.

I hope to see everyone there tomorrow assuming we all do not die in the impending snowmageddon part II.

vs. Kilmarnock. Tuesday, 2nd February. 2:30 P.M.

As the transfer window draws near a close, a wholly made over Celtic squad will be taking the field against Kilmarnock this Tuesday at 2:30 P.M. How much is Celtic made over? Here are the ins and outs over the past month:

IN: Ki Sung-Yeung (midfielder), Morten Rasmussen (striker), Jos Hooiveld (defender), Thomas Rogne (defender), Paul Slane (forward), Edson Braafheid (left defender/wing back) (loan), Diomansy Kamara (striker) (loan to buy).

OUT: Mark Brown (to Hibs), Stephen McManus (loan to Middlesboro), Barry Robson (to Middlesboro), Chris Killen (ditto), Willo Flood (ditto), Gary Caldwell (to Wigan).

The outs do not include players that are on loan and are expected to come back.

And that is so far as it is still possible that there is a move or two in either direction as the SPL window closes at midnight today and the English window closes at 5 P.M. (GMT). So if you liked Celtic’s team last year you can follow them as they play for Middlesboro. Said team is also making a move for a Japanese player who currently plies his trade in Spain.

Oh. The match. Yeah.

So after Morten Rasmussen came on and scored 3 minutes later to give Celtic a 1-0 win over Hamilton the Bhoys move on to their make-up game against Kilmarnock. Celtic remain 10 points back of league leaders. . .that other team. Kilmarnock reside in 11th place after coming off of a 4-4 draw with Dundee United this past weekend. So who will be in our lineup on Tuesday? Your guess is as good as mine as nothing in our lineup seems set.

I hope that we can have a good turn out this Tuesday. I’m probably out for the match but if someone wishes to collect, I’d be indebted.
